Application

Admission requirements

  1. To pursue higher education in Spain and enrol at a university after completing secondary school (bachillerato), you will generally need to obtain a document called the Credential de Acceso. This "equivalence" is issued by UNED and determines whether your secondary school grades are sufficient for admission. You will be given a score out of 10.
  2. As most programmes have limited places, universities also set their own admission requirements, which should be checked on the university’s website. These may include:
    1. Acceptance into the programme based on your overall secondary school grade,
    2. Acceptance into the programme based on your grades in specific subjects,
    3. A required entrance exam to assess knowledge (Pruebas de Competencias Específicas – PCE), especially for medical-related courses.
  3. Pre-enrolment at the university is mandatory. Be sure to meet the deadlines listed on the university’s website, even if your equivalency has not yet been granted!
  4. Final enrolment will take place later, upon invitation from the university.

Language proficiency

In most cases, you must provide proof of sufficient Spanish language skills: DELE – Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language. The DELE can be prepared for in Luxembourg at the Institut national des langues

Deadlines

  • UNEDasiss equivalence: from February
  • University enrolment: deadlines vary by institution. Pre-enrolment is usually open until the end of July.

Distance Learning / Part-Time Studies

Part-time courses may be offered by various higher education institutions.

In addition, distance learning is available through several institutions, including UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia) and UNIR (Universidad a Distancia en Internet), which offer a wide range of degree programmes at bachelor’s, master’s, and even doctoral levels.
